In 2011, Rontex achieved a breakthrough with the Ecoplow hydraulic snow pushing system. The system turns small vehicles into a manoeuvrable winter road maintenance friend that can be used all year round thanks to its mobile attachments. Ever since the first small series production of the Ecoplow, it has enjoyed growing popularity among winter road maintenance services throughout Germany and across Europe. Rontex has been producing clearance modules in Germany since 2014 and has been lauded as a manufacturer of forward-looking and durable products in trade publications ever since.
With the rapid development of the electric vehicle market and given the Ecoplow's unique product features, such as its low tare weight, demand for solutions tailored to light electric utility vehicles has been growing steadily since 2020. With its decision to adapt and develop the system with this in mind, Rontex is serving this future-oriented market. As of 2022, the company is the only manufacturer of snow blades to offer a complete portfolio for virtually all light electric vehicles. In addition, Rontex is developing a version of the system for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. And all our systems impress with unique product features.

GROWTH ON A SOLID FOUNDATION
WHAT’S NEW AT RONTEX?
Innovation thrives on a strong foundation. Since late 2019, Frank Demmler has been steering the strategic development of Rontex GmbH, bringing over 25 years of management experience to the table. Under his leadership, we continue to expand our portfolio and drive the evolution of our products.
In early 2022, Klaus Thomsen joined us as Sales Manager, bringing more than 30 years of sales expertise. His experience is helping us strategically grow across Europe, opening new markets while enhancing our customer service. In 2023, René Streuber took on the role of CEO of Rontex Rental, adding further leadership strength to the team.
Another key milestone: our new headquarters in Dessau-Roßlau. By combining production and administration at a single, central location – ideally positioned between Berlin and Leipzig – we ensure seamless access for customers, partners, and suppliers alike.
Rontex is growing – with a clear vision, a strengthened team, and streamlined operations.

AN INVENTION MAKES HISTORY
2010
CLEARING SNOW FASTER. BUT HOW?
In 2010/2011, while driving a small tractor, Ronny Friedrich looked for something that takes you from A to B more flexibly and quickly. The small tractor was the right weight and size, but it was too slow.
2011
CLEVER AND "SMART"
Ronny designed a hydraulic snow blade to fit a suitable vehicle. He felt that the agile Smart car, which is inexpensive to buy, was the right type of vehicle. He purchased a 450 model and turned it into a prototype in just 14 days. This was followed by intensive and thorough tests.
2013
SERIAL PRODUCTION
The product was improved in line with the experience and tests in the snowy seasons of the previous three years. Ronny Friedrich named the hydraulic snow blade system ECOPLOW and had it patent-protected...
2016
SMALL SERIES AND FEEDBACK
Ronny Friedrich fitted more and more Smart cars with the snow clearing system. Magazines such as Auto Bild and Motor Talk soon became aware of Rontex and its Ecoplow and reported on its development.
2017
THE EXTRA: SPREADING DEVICE
Customers were also asking for a spreading device for the rear with a clever holding mechanism.
2019
NEW MANAGEMENT AND 100% ELECTRIC
Frank Demmler joined the company at the end of 2019. He joined the Rontex GmbH marketing and sales team, supporting them with more than 25 years of management experience. Anja Trümper joined the team as general manager with responsibilities for coordination, sales and project handling. An unbeatable team! The system was adapted to the slightly wider Smart 453 and the new Smart EQ.
2020
ECOPLOW NOW!
Start of production in Dessau. Rontex moved to the new site.
PROJECT ADDAX
The new production structure allowed us to expand our product portfolio by adapting the Ecoplow for the all-electric Addax light utility vehicle. The first customer vehicle went to Austria in December.
2021
QUICK-CHANGE DEVICE
The snow blade is attached to the vehicle with four screws. The screws can be loosened without a lifting platform or any other tools. The hydraulic connections are quick couplings. This way, the blade can be removed from and attached to the vehicle in minutes.
